Why French children don't have ADHD...now there's something to ponder

The title of this article is Why French Kids Don't Have ADHD by Marilyn Wedge, Ph. D. and it explains much about child rearing in the French culture as opposed to the way American's raise their offspring. The public schools in the USA have whittled away at parental rights while taking over the raising of America's children. However, many of us, via homeschooling, have managed to maintain our God-given and constitutional rights to raise our own children as we see fit. We get to set our own standards which are usually higher than the school's one-size-fits-all method.

Is ADHD a defect related to social and cultural environments? Does it even exist at all? Could it be there is far more money to be made with the diagnosis and treatment for ADHD than there is for raising children outside of the failed institution we know as public schooling?  Ponder that.

"This simple truth is still not widely recognized in conventional medicine, nor is it common knowledge among the American people, most of which continue to feed their children processed, nutritionally depleted junk foods. And then they wonder why little Jonny is angry all the time. So they put him on ADHD drugs, SSRI drugs and other psychiatric chemicals. Before long, little Jonny is emptying a 30-round magazine into his classmates at school. And the parents, teachers, Sheriffs and members of Congress stand around scratching their heads, wondering to themselves, "Why does this happen?" So they blame Rush Limbaugh."

Is there a way out of all this? Is Congress so far removed from our day to day lives as parents they can legislate us into oblivion? Maybe it's time we all take a breath, sit down and really think about our lives. Do we truly need to be this hurried and in possession of mountains of 'stuff' and debt? Less is more as we would say in the theater. It may be time to bring the children home, simplify our lives and live in accordance with nature. We need to focus our attentions on our children and grandchildren as though they were the only ones on this earth. When I say 'our' children I don't mean the ones the government thinks belong to the village! Just my opinion.

Doctors prescribe but parents give permission to administer

Thousands of children are prescribed these lethal medications by doctors every day but isn't permission needed from the parent to administer them? Why would a parent do this? Concern? Ignorance? Convenience? Lazy parenting? Stupidity? Stop and think!

So, maybe you gave birth to a child and you no longer have custody. Does your responsibility as a parent end there? How can you not hold yourself accountable when others in this world are medicating your child? A parent is a parent for life no matter the circumstances, the same way abortion does not stop you from becoming a mother or father. Abortion simply makes you the mother or father of a dead baby. But I digress so I'll save that topic for another day.

We all need to stop listening to doctors, politicians, the media and the money mongers who promote the dissolution of the family and the murder of unborn children. Be prepared to fight for your child's health, happiness and well being or don't become a parent. In case you haven't heard sex leads to pregnancy so either take precautions or get married. Yes, this sounds harsh but it's time we humans stop making excuses for our lack of self-discipline, lack of responsibility and lack of caring for our offspring. It saddens me to see videos like this and I don't like being sad.

Since when did human life become so worthless that we think so little of our own who are born to us. Parenting is the most difficult but the most enriching task you will ever undertake. Why would you give up that calling and privilege to others who would do your child harm?

If your child has been labeled you NEED to see this!

I've been screaming about labeling at the top of my lungs for over 30 years but no one was listening. Finally, others are catching on and speaking out too. Labeling was going on even while I was in school in the 60's and 70's but fortunately the psychiatric industry wasn't involved yet. Schooling was the main source of our frustrations and anxieties back then and still is for thousands of children today. When there is a buck to be made off children you can bet the pharmaceutical and psychiatric industries will be first in line with their hand out. This short video has got to be one of the most inspirational messages I've ever seen that gives me hope for the millions of children in America and around the world. The War on Kids...Public Schools Or Prisons? You decide!

It seems like every decade a pattern of bizarre behavior surfaces in our public schools. I'm not talking about the students here but of the schools themselves and their policies. When we first started homeschooling and I became a home education advocate parents would come to me complaining about the behavior modification and indoctrination in global community their children were being subjected to in public schools. We were finally able to put our finger on it and pinpoint the culprit...OBE...outcome based education.

What is it now? What is it called today? Zero tolerance? Not sure but take a look at this documentary titled 'The War on Kids' directed by Cevin Soling. This is chilling!

Fortunately, many parents are finally catching on. They're reworking their priorities and finances in order to rescue their children from the grips of public schooling. For some it's too late but we need to keep up the pressure to get children out of these dangerous hell holes. People who work in these public schools are only prolonging the problem and should be ashamed of themselves for perpetrating such a horrific injustice on these innocent children. What is happening in public schools is nothing short of criminal and unconstitutional.

The gauntlet is laid before your feet. It is a war and I for one am willing to lead with the battle cry....GET THE CHILDREN OUT NOW!

It is not normal to take a young child that nature designed this way and plunk him (or her) down at a desk, with certified strangers who waste a majority of his time day after day, in order to force feed him (or her) information that is irrelevant to living a happy, intelligent, and drug free life.

Nothing rips me more than this phony ADD thing!

If there is one thing about child rearing that annoys me the most it is the destruction of perfectly normal children being diagnosed with the phony disease ADD/ADHD by unscrupulous public school teachers, psychiatrists, pediatricians and the ignorant or disinterested parents who allow this to happen.

Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD has written a book titled The ADHD Fraud: How Psychiatry Makes “Patients” Out of Normal Children, Published by Trafford Publishing. Thankfully, another voice for the innocent children. One day this nightmare will cease and children will be allowed to be children again. At least, for now, we can rescue the children one at a time from the damage being perpetrated by forced public schooling and ignorant parents.

What is guerrilla homeschooling?

What is guerrilla homeschooling? You've heard about homeschooling. You've heard about unschooling. Now you are hearing about guerrilla homeschooling. We're the ones who placed the word homeschooling on the tip of everyone's tongue and made homeschooling mainstream.

We are the home based educators who have paved the way for others through trial and error, through thick and thin, through the good times and the bad. We began in earnest and finished as proud parents of literate, intelligent, well adjusted and successful young adults who are now making their own way in the world. These children are of good character and are contributing members of their communities.

We are the home based educators who fought for and maintained our God-given, parental and constitutional rights. We are the home based educators who created an awareness that parents were meant to raise their own children, not some cockeyed version of a 'village' doing it. We took back our children and raised them as we saw fit to do, without interference from the so-called experts and without the public school's influence. Our children have grown up in the real world away from the artificial, institutionalized and self-destructive world of forced public schooling. It wasn't easy but it was worth the battle to maintain our sanity and safety of our children.

A new generation of children is emerging. A new generation of children who are educated not schooled, informed not indoctrinated, and whole not a hollowed out shell of what was once a loving, inquisitive child.

You'll read some rather frank and honest opinions here but feel free to jump into the debate. Don't be afraid to share your views or ask questions. Don't take things personally and do express your views.

You'll eventually see and understand there is a common thread here that joins us all. We all want what is best for our own children and we all want to maintain our rights, whether God-given, parental or constitutional. We all learn by trial and error. If we didn't we wouldn't be human. Instincts tend to play a huge roll in guerrilla homeschooling. Follow your instincts but arm yourself with knowledge. Question the policies, whims and propaganda that flows from the NEA controlled public schools. Learn the difference between getting an education and being schooled. Read, read, read and discuss.

The beauty of homeschooling, whether unschooling or guerrilla, is that you can learn right along side of your growing, inquisitive and loving child. Take back your child. Give them a fighting chance in this ruthlessly schooled world.

Are homeschoolers raising killers?

Public school supporters and anti-homeschooling folks are having a field day with this AP story about homeschooler Matthew Murray. As homeschoolers we all know that Matthew was the exception, not the norm. What child could possibly grow up sane in a situation like his where he was a virtual prisoner to overbearing parents and some seriously flawed childrearing advice.

A mention of particular concern to me in this news article is:

"Chrstnghtmr wrote that at age 17, after an attempt at going “all out for Jesus,” he plunged into a “dark suicidal depression” because he somehow couldn’t live up to the rules. He wrote he felt he was “failing God.” Chrstnghtmr described his parents putting him on two antidepressants after he shared his feelings. "

Not one but TWO antidepressants for this boy! Who prescribed that crap for this child? There are entire websites dedicated to children who have died or destroyed others by being on these mind and personality altering drugs. Sounds all too familiar to me. Parents are too busy with their careers, can't be bothered, or are too embarrassed to deal with a child's needs so they legally drug him into submission. Public schools do the same thing but first they place a fake label on the child, such as ADD or ADHD. This insanity has to stop!

Section 439 of the General Education Provisions Act (20 U.S.C. 1232g) is amended to read as follows:

"PROTECTION OF PUPIL RIGHTS

"Sec. 439. (a) All instructional materials, including teacher's manuals, films, tapes, or other supplementary material which will be used in connection with any survey, analysis, or evaluation as part of any applicable program shall be available for inspection by the parents or guardians of the children.

"(b) No student shall be required, as part of any applicable program, to submit to a survey, analysis, or evaluation that reveals information concerning—

"(1) political affiliations;

"(2) mental and psychological problems potentially embarrassing to the student or his family;

"(3) sex behavior and attitudes;

"(4) illegal, anti-social, self-incriminating and demeaning behavior;

"(5) critical appraisals of other individuals with whom respondents have close family relationships;

"(6) legally recognized privileged or analogous relationships, such as those of lawyers, physicians, and ministers; or

"(7) income (other than that required by law to determine eligibility for participation in a program or for receiving financial assistance under such program),

without the prior consent of the student (if the student is an adult or emancipated minor), or in the case of an unemancipated minor, without the prior written consent of the parent.

"(c) Educational agencies and institutions shall give parents and students effective notice of their rights under this section.

"(d) Enforcement.—The Secretary shall take such action as the Secretary determines appropriate to enforce this section, except that action to terminate assistance provided under an applicable program shall be taken only if the Secretary determines that—

"(1) there has been a failure to comply with such section; and

"(2) compliance with such section cannot be secured by voluntary means.

"(e) Office of Review Board.—The Secretary shall establish or designate an office and review board within the Department of Education to investigate, process, review, and adjudicate violations of the rights established under this section.".
