Lip Service

The public schools are giving much lip service to parental involvement in the education process these days but in reality the only involvement they truly want is with your bank account. If at all serious about parental involvement public schools would offer a Home Study Program. Just think of the savings to parents and taxpayers. Less time in an institution and more time with families is what children need. Family centered learning not school centered lives.

Why build a school addition for fifty extra students or a middle school when a Home Study Program would serve those children and the community far better. Extending the school year only lengthens an already harmful experience. Being cooped up inside a musty building with foul air and apathetic teachers is schooling. Being outside in the world where one is free to roam, explore, experiment, question, communicate and discover is education!
