This is an older article from the The Boston Globe (December 4, 2006) but is a good explanation why parents have no rights when they enroll their children in public school. Don't think for one minute that these surveys are no longer used in public schools around the country. The schools have found other ways to get this information from students and to force their agenda on unsuspecting children and parents.
