I never tire of Gatto either and think every student parent, educator, policy maker etc should have to read his "Underground History of American Education". I cannot promote his writing enough because every time I read it, I'm nodding positively "exactly! So that's why", but also being angered that public school is so scared of change or criticism, that they won't adopt his ideas.
