Mother Arrested For Cursing At Principal

Mother Arrested For Cursing At Principal

...and the Dork Award goes to Superintendent Joseph Luongo for asking whether or not the 13 year old daughter was wearing a thong and to school board member Joseph Rinke for flexing his testicles and trying to blame the mom for this fiasco!

Einstein quote...

"Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school." - Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Recently I responded to a survey...

The question was asked: Should Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid step down for his racially insensitive remarks? I voted 'NO' and voiced my disgust with them all down there in DC...

"Democrats and Republicans all need to grow up and stop acting like playground bullies and wusses. Are they really that thin skinned? We cannot read Reid's mind so how would anyone on this planet, besides Harry Reid, know whether his remarks were meant to be 'insensitive' or not? The same goes for Trent Lott who was run out of town for speaking his mind. I can think of better ways to describe Obama...how about traitor, derelict and incompetent, and yes, I think his skin color is a factor because he's a racist as well. He likes stickin' it to the establishment and we all know who he thinks represents the establishment...white corporate America. Talk about a proverbial chip on the shoulder. Geeeeesh!"

Harms of Homeschooling debunked...AGAIN!

Read HSLDA's response to Robin L. West's whine fest about homeschooling. Sounds to me Ms. West has an axe to grind. West gets our Dork Award!

Johnathan Goodwin...7th grade drop-out

John Taylor Gatto talks about Jonathan Goodwin in his lecture on C-span 2 Book TV about his new book Weapons of Mass Instruction: A Schoolteacher's Journey Through the Dark World of Compulsory Schooling. Yet another inspirational story about someone who instinctively knew public schooling was not the way to an education and success.

Weapons of Mass Instruction--John Taylor Gatto

Extraordinary video speech by John Taylor Gatto on his new book Weapons of Mass Instruction: A Schoolteacher's Journey Through the Dark World of Compulsory Schooling. This appeared on C-Span2 Book TV and is free for the watching on the internet. Incredible insight and research once again by John Taylor (yes, I'm on a first name basis with him) whom I adore and admire greatly. Listen to his speeches and read his books to know what is destroying the very fabric of this once great country.

Albeit with wet and bended wings...

Recently I posted this on my facebook page and received an interesting response from several sources. One of the responses was from an 18 year old grandniece who recently graduated from public school and is now attending college in Maine (why so far from home I wonder?). She basically accuses me of being a product of public education (schooling) and a hypocrite because I attended a local state college. This was my response to her:

It's nice to see that even though I've only seen you probably a total of 4 or 5 times in your life you feel you are acquainted with me well enough to rudely deem me a 'product of public education' and a 'hypocrite'.

For starters, I am NOT a product of public education nor am I even a product of public schooling. It took quite some time but I eventually overcame my public school experience and pursued an education worth my time and effort on my own. Public school was easy to glide through. There were no high expectations on either side and once one learned how and when to 'jump through the hoops' awards and high grades were simple to acquire. The bad habits learned in public school were somewhat more difficult to unlearn and the propaganda took some time to overcome as well. But, alas, I persevered.

As far as my college 'education' is concerned I attended for 5 years on the GI Bill simply because it was allowed and the check arrived every month in a timely manner. I was not required to work for 5 years of my life providing I enrolled in the state's program. I received high grades there as well even when I didn't show up for 2/3 of the time for some classes. So basically I purchased a degree from a state run college. My true education was garnered, not in the classroom, but in the real life I lived outside it, especially before and after leaving the college campus.

So you see, my dear, you know nothing of what you claim and had you been allowed to live in the real world for the past 18 years and talk with relatives you'd know this. I'm also sorry to see you believe the propaganda you've been fed all these years.

In the future, when discussing education vs. schooling with me you may want to leave out the emotion and simply stay with the facts. You've apparently done little or no research, are parroting what you've learned in school or at home, and expose your naivete by resorting to name calling and regurgitation of the propaganda fed to you during your public school career.

Open your mind. Choose to learn what is important to you and your future, not what has been deemed important by others for the first 18 years of your life. I love your passion to debate this topic but you need to be able to back up your comments and opinions with facts.

Now that you've been allowed to leave your momma's protective yet ignorant cocoon, albeit with wet and bended wings, maybe you'll begin to learn in the real world what is truly necessary and important to your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. I fear this will not happen should you recreate a similarly sheltered life in a liberal leaning college that will only serve to stall your flight for yet another four years in your young life. ;-)

Note: both my grandniece's mother (niece by marriage) and maternal aunt are public school teachers.

Didn't give up my rights in the first place

Judy Aron seems to think we need to grovel for our rights in her article Arresting Developments.

The US Constitution supersedes state law. These parents were well within their constitutional, parental and God-given rights to homeschool without state interference...no matter what state they were living in. The state of NY is WRONG and so were the school officials and cowardly sheriff who arrested the parents.

Laws change constantly. One day you can't teach a negro to read and the next day you can. One day you can't marry your same sex lover and the next day you can. One day you can hang a murderer and the next day you can't. One day you can take a cow up in an air balloon and the next day you can't. We all know laws are written and passed for the pleasure and power of the few who have deceitfully brokered their way into the legislative assemby. Authorities only pay attention to the archaic laws that will garner them the most power, prestige and money.

More parents should stand their ground and refuse to give up their constitutional, parental and God-given rights. Only then will those in power understand their tyranny will not be tolerated and THEY must change the laws to favor the rights of the people or eliminate the laws that hinder those rights. It is NOT up to the people to grovel and hound legislators into allowing us to keep our rights.

Fortunately, a situation like this in NY serves to expose the corruption and lies of the school, the sheriff and the legislature...and the ignorance of Judy Aron.

Aron quotes Deborah Stevenson saying: "
It is time for all parents to wake up and look at what has been happening and to take back their right to control the education and upbringing of their own children." Well, excuse me, but I never gave up my rights in the first place so why should I grovel to take them back? We simply kept our children out of public school and their rules be damned.

Dumbed down America and one of its finest moments!

A New York bus driver caught on tape...

This is infuriating! No longer can American parents feign STUPID and keep supporting public schools in this country. Parents need to be held accountable for endangering the lives of their children when they send them to public schools.

Love it...love it...love it!

You gotta hand it to the legislators and school officials in California. What they do makes my job of advocating for home education so much easier. More often than not what is legislated and adopted into the California schools eventually makes its way across the country and eventually ends up in our Vermont schools as well. The sad part is this crap takes time for young, dumbed down parents to discover and usually by then their children are so screwed up it takes them years to heal their families. But, hey, that's what the schools are counting on are they not?

...and they wonder why students are leaving in droves

Teachers, principals, superintendents, board members, legislators, journalists, janitors and cafeteria ladies can't seem to figure out why students are leaving their precious public schools in droves, or so they claim. Could it possibly have anything to do with this? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

This is nothing new. It just tends to bubble up to the surface of public awareness, like the scum in a cesspool, whenever a Democrat takes up residence in the White House. I think the word for this is Clintonesque.

Jail time for lowest math scores in the nation????

This is just too funny! I opt to throw the parents in jail for choosing to send their children to these Detroit public schools in the first place.

"This is an abysmal failure," Bobb said. "It is not the fault of our kids individually, and it is not the fault of our kids collectively. It is not the kids' fault. It is the adults' fault. It is a failure of leadership."

The scores were so low that DPS parent Tonya Allen said she thinks students could have stayed home and done just as badly on the tests."

Failure of leadership? More like failure of parenting. If they HAD kept their children home and taught them there the children would probably all be reading and writing on a college level by now!

Geeeeeeeeesssssh!!!

Eight dads jailed for standing up for their parental rights! The real criminals here are those who file the charges and enforce such laws. It makes you wonder how many of these teachers, school administrators, legislators, police, prosecutors, jail guards and wardens have children of their own. More often than not it's THEIR children who are the dolts, druggies, perverts and thieves who act like their reprobate parents! Geeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssh!!!!

Socialization myth gets debunked...again!

Even after homeschooling for over 22 years that ol' socialization monster still keeps rearing its ugly head. Here is the latest article and research debunking the socialization myth once again.

Michael Smith, president of HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) states in his article: "Since the re-emergence of the home-school movement in the late 1970s, critics of home-schooling have perpetuated two myths. The first concerns the ability of parents to adequately teach their own children at home; the second is whether home-schooled children will be well-adjusted socially."

The 're-emergence' is the key word here. For centuries parents taught their own. Public school teachers are nothing more than certified strangers who, with the help of union thugs, maintain a high level of job comfort and job security for themselves with little, if any, regard for the proper and useful education of children. Parents are simply going back to their roots after discovering that public schooling is nothing more than a system of lies, greed and propaganda.

Finally, someone 'gets it'...go Rush!

"I guess the public school system in this country has successfully dumbed down enough people that idiots can triumph in our political system." Rush Limbaugh

Six year old facing 45 days in reform school...

The only crime committed here occurred when Zachery's mom enrolled him in public school. So now she's 'homeschooling' him (temporarily) until the matter can be resolved. C'mon mom, wise up! You knew the rules when you sent your baby off to school. Stop blaming the school for enforcing its rules no matter how absurd they are about applying the punishment across the board. We can only hope that Zachery's mom will wise up and decide to homeschool him permanently.

Is college public school?

Is college public school? I was recently asked this question on Facebook after posting a video of some students from Ron Clark Academy singing about Obama's proposed health care reform on CNN and voicing my concern as to whether or not these students were learning academics or were being indoctrinated. The questioner complained she was fed up with people knocking her public school experience. This was my response:

College is a choice which is usually made as an adult although more and more mid-teens are enrolling, many of them being homeschoolers. You are free to leave college at any time or pick and choose what you want to study. Public school (K-12), once enrolled, is not about choice, or freedom, or education for neither the parent or the child. Public schooling is about control of the parents and the money, and it's about job comfort and job security for the people employed within the system.

Parents can choose public, private (judging from the appearance of the students in this video they are attending a private school so there is no guarantee there won't be any indoctrination going on in a private school) or home schooling but it's usually a question of finance. Many must send their children into public schooling under the threat of truancy, jail and a hefty fine, however, they can choose alternatives if they aren't selfish, are willing to work hard, or make sacrifices.

People who choose to send their children to public schools have no business complaining about them or what the school personnel teach their children, even if that means the parents feel it's inappropriate or detrimental to their family's well-being.

If you need to ask 'is college public school?' I would question the caliber of education you are receiving with your own college experience. Most state colleges are a cesspool of liberal thinking and a degree is basically bought or is simply a reward for attending.

You need to ask yourself what truly constitutes an 'education'. I know lots of degree holders who are well-meaning idiots. If you take what I have to say personally then you may want to consider stepping back and taking a good hard look at your life choices.

Personally, I consider both my high school diploma and college degree not worth the paper they're written on. It took years to discover I needed to 'educate' myself about what I deemed necessary to survive in this world and to be successful. Ultimately, we are all responsible for ourselves and that includes our education, our health, our happiness, and our prosperity.

If my freedom of speech offends anyone then hit the 'off' or delete button. I don't care for whiners or complainers nor do I have time for them. Please don't make comments unless you are informed or mature enough to debate the issue. I abhor cowards and people who make excuses.

If your 'public school' education is always being 'put down' as you say, then I suggest there may be something to it. We all have the power to redeem ourselves for the lack of an 'education' within the public school system by NOT allowing our own children to attend such an abysmal institution that perpetuates a vicious cycle of ignorance.

This cycle has been maintained by the pubic schools for several generations and it is not limited to the student body. School personnel are not immune to the effects of years of purposely preventing any intellectual thought or usage of common sense. It is what some notables have now termed 'the dumbing down' of America.

Need a prime example of the 'dumbing down' phenomenon? Listen to the people who were interviewed in Detroit this week when they lined up to get what they thought was free money from Obama's 'stash' of cash! Please understand, there is an enormous difference between being 'educated' and being 'schooled'. Chances are you were properly 'schooled', as I was, but NOT 'educated'.

When we reach the pinnacle of our lives and we are happy and/or successful then it is because we have made good choices and life is ALL about choices...learn to choose well or learn to live with the consequences.
